Additionally, several bus services operate regular routes to Coffs Harbour, making it accessible from various nearby towns and cities. Lastly, NSW TrainLink operates services to and from Coffs Harbour Station, providing convenient train travel options for visitors. Day 1: Morning - Urunga Boardwalk: Where River Serenity Meets Coastal Majesty
As the sun rises, embark on a journey to the charming town of Urunga, just a scenic 30-minute drive south of Coffs Harbour, to unveil the enchanting allure of the Urunga Boardwalk. Tucked away as a hidden gem just beyond the borders of Coffs Harbour, this boardwalk promises a captivating adventure amidst picturesque landscapes and tranquil riverbanks.

The Urunga Boardwalk stands out as one of the premier boardwalks along the east coast, boasting breathtaking panoramic views that span its entire length. This captivating walk meanders along the scenic banks of the Kalang River, extending to the confluence with the Bellinger River and ultimately reaching the ocean. The Big Things are a collection of approximately 150 oversized landmarks spread across the country, serving as prominent tourist attractions. Situated along major highways and between popular destinations, these landmarks not only draw tourists but also make for excellent rest stops during long road trips. While you're in Urunga, be sure to visit the Big Bee Hive and the BIG Bower Bird.
The Big Bee Hive is located at the entrance of The Honey Place. After capturing a memorable photo in front of the Big Beehive, step inside to explore their working display beehive and discover the fascinating world of beekeeping and honey production. Don't forget to sample their range of Natural Australian honey and bring some home to savour!
The BIG Bower Bird is located at the entrance of the Bellingen Community Recycling Centre. This impressive sculpture not only highlights the region's artistic spirit but also serves as a creative symbol of environmental consciousness and community effort.

Step inside The Big Banana Fun Park, and you'll discover a playground of endless possibilities. But The Big Banana is more than just an amusement park – it's a celebration of all things banana! A visit to The Big Banana Fun Park wouldn't be complete without capturing a memorable photograph in front of the iconic Big Banana, the very first of Australia's famous Big Things, symbolizing joy and excitement.
Make sure to click a photo of The Big Golf Ball at the entrance of The Big Banana Fun Park as well. Additionally, don't miss the opportunity to indulge in the park's legendary creation – the Big Banana split! This delectable treat is a must-try, featuring creamy scoops of ice cream, decadent toppings, and fresh bananas, adding a delightful touch to your adventure-filled day at The Big Banana Fun Park.
Day 2: Stop #1 - Niigi Niigi - Sealy Lookout: Where the World Unfolds at Your Feet
After breakfast, head to Niigi Niigi - Sealy Lookout (also known as Forest Sky Pier) in Orara East State Forest. Sealy lookout is located adjacent to the carpark, ensuring that visitors can enjoy spectacular panoramic views without the need for strenuous walking or hiking. Day 2: Stop #3 - Muttonbird Island: Coastal Wonders and Avian Encounters
Next, continue your exploration of nature's wonders at Muttonbird Island, making a quick stop at The Big Vacuum, located at the front of Coffs Cleaner World.
The next stop is the picturesque Coffs Harbour Marina, where the walk to Muttonbird Island begins. Please note that access to Muttonbird Island is only possible by foot, and amenities such as restaurants and toilets are only available at Coffs Harbour Marina.
Take your time to explore the award-winning Muttonbird Island outdoor learning space at the base of the island, where traditional Aboriginal Dreamtime stories come to life, sharing tales of the mighty moon-man guardian and the island's ancient folklore. The ascent to the island's summit is both exhilarating and educational, with a sealed but steep trail guiding you past the nesting grounds of the Wedge-tailed Shearwater. Please ensure that you keep to the walking track so that you do NOT accidentally step onto the burrows and damage them. Keep an eye out for informative signage that sheds light on the lifecycle of these migratory birds, emphasizing the importance of preserving their burrows. You will soon reach the island's lookout point for breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
Continue further east from the summit of Muttonbird Island to reach the Eastern Lookout, an elevated perch above wave-worn rock platforms. Here, you'll be welcomed by sweeping vistas that unfold across the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Throughout the year, this lookout offers unobstructed views of the marine park's wonders, presenting opportunities to witness humpback whales during their annual migration between May and November. On clear days, the panorama extends from the southern reaches of South West Rocks to the northern expanse of Woolgoolga, showcasing the coastal splendor and natural beauty that define the irresistible allure of Muttonbird Island.
Day 2: Last Stop - Jetty Beach or North Wall Beach: Sunset Bliss on the Shorelines
